Impromptu Salon Yields Great Results

With a deadline looming, a phone call seeking advice turned into an unscheduled writing salon.  Tina Jenkins-Bell and Chirskira Caillouet gathered in L.D. Barnes basement tap room on a Sunday afternoon.  With laptops and libations, they worked on cover letters, bios and pieces to submit to Curbside Splendor's upcoming anthology Revise the Psalm: Work Celebrating the Writing of Gwendolyn Brooks.

From that session, Recipe (a poem) by L.D. Barnes; The Last Supper ( a short story) by Tina Jenkins-Bell; and My Mother's Clothes (a poem) by Chirskira Caillouet, will be included in this important 100th birthday work.

Edited by Auraysh Ali Lansana and Sandra Jackson-Opoku, the book is sure to be a wondrous collection of short stories, poems and personal accounts of encounters with the poet laureate herself.
